The Prince William and Harry will unveil the statue of Princess Diana on her 60th birthday i.e. on July 1, 2021.
Princess Diana’s favorite spot on the grounds of Kensington Palace, known as the Sunken Garden, will house the statue.
On the 20th anniversary of Diana’s death in 2017, they transformed the Sunken Garden into a lovely memorial to her.
It was complete with forget-me-nots, white lilies, white roses, tulips, narcissi, and daisies.
In a statement, Prince William and Harry said they hoped the statue will inspire visitors to reflect on their mother and her legacy.
Ian Rank-Broadley, who designed the portrait of the Queen that appears on UK coinage, is creating Princess Diana’s sculpture.
