Portugal concluded their UEFA EURO 2020 preparations with a 4-0 win against Israel. The defending champions begin their title defence against Hungary in Budapest.
On a dominant night for the Selecao, skipper Cristiano Ronaldo inched closer to another significant landmark. Portugal, who were the surprise winners of Euro 2016, are one of the favourites to win the competition this year.
Ronaldo, on Wednesday, took his international tally to 104 goals. Now, the Portuguese superstar is just 5 goals behind the all-time top-scorer Ali Daei (109).
In addition, the 36-year-old also holds the record for the most caps for Portugal (175). This is Ronaldo’s fifth straight European Championship.
Among the active goal scorers, Indian attacker Sunil Chhetri ranks behind Cristiano Ronaldo with 74 goals.
